Dear friends of alternative medicine,
PfAM was founded to defend your access (as practitioner, patient, or consumer) to alternative medicine. PfAM does not exist as a source of income—to maintain it requires sacrifice of both time and money. Not all organizations that claim to defend freedom of choice in health care back up this position by their actions. Public education and trade organizations that accept board members and contributions from pharmaceutical companies are not true grassroots organizations. PfAM is not for sale: we will not adapt our message to suit the highest bidder. PfAM will not take non-profit status, because that would commit us to ever-changing public policy. The alternative to grassroots public education is government of the people, by public relations firms and lobbyists, for the interests of multinational corporations. If the common people have no voice, lobbyists and think tanks will write the laws, Congress will rubber-stamp them, and appointed bureaucrats will both draft and enforce the implementation, and the expense of our pursuit of happiness, our liberties, and—if necessary—even out lives.
PfAM works in conjunction with like-minded organizations, using legislative alerts, e-mail/ phone trees, educational materials and our informative newsletter to mobilize a strong, timely response to urgent issues. Our newsletter is in the sixth year of publication.
It’s humbling when other publications either quote us or ask for permission to reprint one of our articles. Our article on “Chemtrails” appeared in World Health News; our “Are Your Dietary Supplements At Risk,” in the Naturopathic Physician, N.M.D. magazine, The International Council For Health Freedom (ICHF) mentioned us as a source for information on the European Vitamin Directive. In addition to this, PfAM is exchanging ads with a couple of publications. What this means to you, our supporters, we are receiving national and international recognition for our efforts.
Like any business or organization, PfAM has had many challenges and any support given greatly assists PfAM in covering on going expenses,our outreach and networking system. We also need more volunteer help.
